Randy Owen Of Alabama, Will Jennings, Layng Martine, Jr., Jeffrey Steele To Be Inducted Into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame
The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation (NaSHOF) announced yesterday (Aug. 15) that Randy Owen of country group Alabama and songwriters Will Jennings, Layng Martine, Jr., and Jeffrey Steele are this year’s inductees into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
“This past year I’ve had the pleasure of being on the road with one of the greatest voices in the world period,” Hunter Hayes said as he introduced six-time GRAMMY Award winner Carrie Underwood.
After the uptempo pop fun of “Good Girl,” the first single from her 2012 album Blown Away, Carrie Underwood chose a song of a different color for her next one.
The wife of Texas singer-songwriter Guy Clark, Susanna wrote songs for Miranda Lambert, Kathy Mattea, Emmylou Harris, and others and painted Willie Nelson’s ‘Stardust’ album cover.
“Welcome to Nashville in New York City,” host Bob DiPiero said as he greeted country fans at Joe’s Pub. “We’re going to play some songs. We’re going to tell you stories. Basically this is our living room.”
