The 45th anniversary edition of Haggard’s classic live album “Okie from Muskogee” hits stores tomorrow. Here an exclusive preview of “Today I Started Loving You Again,” one of Merle’s most classic ballads.
The legendary artist will receive the Crystal Milestone Award during this year’s ACMs. Haggard is also the subject of the upcoming tribute album “Working Man’s Poet,” featuring many top country stars.
“This record came from such a beautiful place of reverence and respect,” Gill told Radio.com about “Bakersfield,” which was just issued in a deluxe version. “The fact that Merle [Haggard] wrote the liner notes and got to hear it, that to me was reason enough for making it.”
In honor of its 45th anniversary, Haggard’s live “Okie from Muskogee” album is getting reissued later this month. And as a bonus, a second disc will feature his 1970 album “The Fightin’ Side of Me.”
