Florida-Georgia Line, George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Merle Haggard Will ‘Salute the Troops’ in a TV Special this May
Haggard, Strait, Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry are the first artists announced for an “All-Star Salute to the Troops” concert that will air in May on CBS.
Some 100,000 tickets are now sold for Strait’s final tour date, which features a huge range of special guests. Find out who is on the bill — and which guests are performing on which dates throughout the rest of the 2014 tour.
Dubbed Playin’ Possum: The Final No-Show, the Jones tribute concert lasted four hours and welcomed more than 100 artists to to perform 48 Jones hits.
The final concert on Strait’s two-year Cowboy Rides Away Tour will include a huge roster of superstar special guests.
While ‘Glee’ and singer Katy Perry have the most nominations, country music is represented by the likes of Blake Shelton (who is nominated three times), The Band Perry, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift.
Family leader Willie Robertson, who sings lead, wrote “Ragin’ Cajun Redneck Christmas” with Nashville songwriter Dallas Davidson, who’s written a number of hits for Lady Antebellum and Luke Bryan.
