Farm Aid Announces Date of 30th Anniversary Concert
By Philip Cosores
Willie Nelson‘s Farm Aid turns 30 years old this year. And if you think the last 29 concerts were enough to pull all the struggling family farms from out of debt and educate the world on locally and organically produced food, you are wrong. The unfortunate thing about this type of concert is it will not save all the farms. But Willie and his friends are making a difference, and by attending, you can to.
The next installment will take place on September 19, and will be the first event since Farm Aid received a $15,000 preservation grant from the GRAMMY Foundation. This money will be used to develop a plan to digitize, preserve and archive the past and future Farm Aid performances.
Farm Aid is the longest running benefit concert in the U.S., and in a press release, co-founder John Mellencamp spoke about the event’s legacy.
