Country music star and host of The Voice is augmenting his portfolio with a new endorsement deal for Pizza Hut, serving as the face of the restaurant chain’s new line of barbecue pizza pies.
During an interview with Our Country on the set of a Pizza Hut commercial advertising the new barbecue line, Shelton made it clear that he walks it like he talks it in regards to the new flavors, one of which bears his name, “Blake’s Smokehouse,” and he cites as his favorite variety (“It’s like a meat-lover’s version of barbecue pizza”).
“I’m actually a fan of this idea, barbecue pizza,” Shelton said. “I’m having a lot of fun working with the Pizza Hut people. They’re so much fun to be around. Their headquarters is in Dallas, and that’s basically right outside of where I live anyway, so we already have a lot in common.”
According to Bloomberg, Pizza Hut is citing the barbecue campaign as a “huge launch,” with the TV spots scheduled to roll out on May 18.
