Keith Urban, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Alicia Keys and John Legend are among the first performers announced for The Night That Changed America: A GRAMMY Salute To The Beatles which is scheduled to be recorded on Monday, Jan. 27, the night after the GRAMMY Awards.
The program will also include the Eurythmics, who will share the stage for the first time since 2005. When Radio.com recently asked Dave Stewart if he and Annie Lennox would ever reunite the Eurythmics, his answer was that “we’ve never said we would never work together again.” The reunion, however, is for one night only.
The program will be broadcast Sunday, February 9, (8 p.m., live ET/delayed PT) on CBS. The broadcast date is exactly 50 years to the day of the Beatles‘ debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show.
Urban is, of course, no stranger to performing Beatles material. Last year, for instance, he and Mayer covered the Beatles’ “Don’t Let Me Down” together at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads festival in New York City.
