After four years of silence from Brantley Gilbert, the country world can rejoice!  At 1am on December 17, Gilbert posted a simple message to his Facebook fans letting them know the news of his new music.  ”Bottoms up…” he said simply with a link to iTunes to purchase the new single.  But if new music isn’t enough for you, BG is never one to disappoint.  Accompanying the new single is a prohibition themed music video showing the singer decked in 1930s inspired garb with a couple of beautiful ladies in flapper dresses.

As the video progresses, BG and his ladies are seen loading illegal moonshine into the car, a group of bodyguard types following behind closely as the group drives to its destination: a Gatsby-inspired party in the middle of nowhere.  As BG and his group walk through the door carrying jars of moonshine and barrels of the alcohol, it transforms into a modern 2013 party with Gilbert dressed head to toe in his leather jackets, numerous rings and chains.  The party continues as the spirits are poured and dancing ensues until the party ends and they’re all transformed back to the 1930s.

Gilbert has always kept the bad-to-the-bone image since his start in the music industry and seeing him keep the same roots even four years later is a relief for BG Nation worldwide.  His new single is full of gritty country tones and includes a smooth chorus that will be stuck in your head for days. “Throwin’ on down, rock this quiet little country town  / Drop a tailgate on your truck / Find a keg and fill your cup / Kick it on back, pretty little mama lookin’ at you like that / Make you wanna slide on in like girl what’s up / Tonight it’s bottoms up,” he sings during the chorus of this brand new single.

There’s only one thing that can be said about BG’s new single and his jump back into country music… welcome back, Brantley.  We’ve missed the heck out of ya!
