This week, The Voice coach (and bromantic partner for Blake Shelton) Adam Levine was crowned the sexiest man alive by People Magazine.  Other contenders for the sexiest honor included Luke Bryan, Justin Timberlake, David Beckham, Bruno Mars, Jimmy Fallon and more.

But it was Adam Levine who took the hot seat on the November 19th episode of The Voice when Carson Daly revealed the honor on live television.  While the audience went crazy for Levine’s new title, it was Daly who broke the news to Shelton about his loss. “I’m sorry, Blake,” Daly muses.  ”It just didn’t work for you, buddy.” But not to be outdone by the rest of his cast, Shelton jumped in with his own retort: “This is why I drink so much. He stole my thunder.”

Though Shelton’s ego may be a bit bruised, Levine came to his defense in his normal bromantic way.  ”You’re the sexiest man in my book,” Levine reassured the country singer.

“I want you to know,” Shelton admitted to Levine, “I think you’re beautiful for what’s on the inside,” he admired, prompting a quick dashing hug from Levine as he planted a kiss on Shelton’s forehead.

Ahh, bromance at its finest.

Last night on Jimmy Kimmel, though, Levine was given the honor on television, donning a mirrored trophy and his famous white tee and jeans.

“A lot of people trivialize this sort of thing. They say it’s shallow and think it’s just a media stunt used to sell magazines and perpetuate the image of Hollywood being based on looks. And that’s totally true,” he admits on Jimmy Kimmel Live.  ”People of America, great choice,” he cooed before continuing confidently. “And you’re welcome.”
