It’s been nearly four years since fans have received a new album from Brantley Gilbert. Following 2010’s Halfway to Heaven, the “More Than Miles” singer has been in the studio working on his next album.

In a recent interview with Charlotte radio station The New 103.7, (a Radio.com station), Gilbert previewed a few songs off his upcoming release including next single, “Bottoms Up.” Some of the tracks on the album will include his new single, a heartfelt breakup song, which he admits was really easy to write after his latest breakup, as well as a feel good youthful song about being 17 and sneaking out of the house.

With almost four years since his last release, he’s got a big reason why he wants fans to buy his next venture.

“I’m hungry. I’m real hungry. I’m starving,” he said with a straight face until busting out into laughter.

In other words, buying the album puts food on the table. Then again, so does touring. Gilbert says music has always been his No. 1 priority and having recently toured with Tim McGraw, he admires the country singer for the way he handles life on the road as a husband and father.

“Tim and I share some lifestyle choices. He had a lot of great advice, not only about business, but also about life,” Gilbert recalled. “I got to fly with him to and from a couple shows and to hear him come off stage and the way he talks to Faith and his daughters, it was really cool to see a man of his status is really a good father and a good husband as well.”

He added: “When it’s just the fellas in the room and you’re talking candidly between them, that’s the time when usually you can tell when somebody can fall off a little bit and he never did. He’s a real strong soul and real strong personality and I couldn’t replace that experience with the world.”

Gilbert’s new single, “Bottoms Up” is at radio now.
