Alan Jackson‘s latest album, aptly titled The Bluegrass Album, blends his brand of country with elements of bluegrass.
This week he released two videos from the project: “Blue Ridge Mountain Song,” which features his daughter Ali as the leading lady; and “Blacktop,” which was shot at the popular Nashville bluegrass venue Station Inn.
Both tracks were written by Jackson for the album and the videos were shot by photographer and director David McClister. “Blue Ridge Mountain Song” was filmed east of Nashville and in the hills of North Carolina, according to Country Standard Time. Singing alongside shots from the rolling hills, the video paints the picture of a waitress meeting her dream man at a diner where she waits tables. Meanwhile, the banjo-driven song goes through the evolution of their romance. Watch the poignant clip below.
“Blacktop” takes place at Nashville standard The Station Inn and features Jackson in a sold-out concert with his recording band. As fans line the street, the man himself walks up onto the small stage, guitar in hand. Watch below as fans hold up Alan Jackson t-shirts, drink and dance along.
“I’ve been trying to make this album for 15 years or longer. I’m just a fan of the music and it’s always been closely related to country music, especially the kind that I make,” he said.
The Bluegrass Album is out now.
