Cassadee Pope’s Debut Album ‘Frame By Frame’ Out Today
Cassadee Pope‘s new album, Frame By Frame, is in stores everywhere today and although fans got to know her throughout the course of the hit NBC show, The Voice, Cassadee says she really opened up on Frame By Frame.
She tells WYCD Detroit’s The Dr. Don Show no subject was off limits, including the most personal parts of her life. “This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for and if I don’t take advantage of it I’m gonna really regret it, so I decided that I’m gonna be an open book and just all the songs that I write, they’re gonna come from a really special place, and all the songs that I take from outside writers have to be something that I’ve gone through or that I really love and I wish I wrote. You know, I wrote five out of the 11 songs on the album and I wrote the two bonus tracks from the deluxe release so it’s all close to the heart, but I feel like I’d be gypping everyone if I didn’t share my deepest, darkest secrets with everybody.”
Cassadee will kick off release day with a performance on NBC’sToday Show. You’d think that singing in front of millions of fans at a time last year would be old hat to Cassadee, but she says she still gets butterflies. “I definitely get nervous every single time. There’s something about live TV (and) knowing people are watching at that moment, knowing people are gonna tweet what they think and post on Facebook and say if they liked it or not. It’s just so immediate that it’s scary, but it’s hard to sing in the morning. I have to wake up about two hours before the performance to really wake my voice up. Morning aren’t the best for a singer, but you’ve just gotta truck through it, and a lot of really amazing opportunities are in the morning like the Today Show so (I’ve) gotta just realize it’s an amazing opportunity for me and do my best.”
Cassadee will appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night (Wednesday, October 9th) and will performing at Mall of America Saturday (Oct 12). More MOA show info HERE.
