Everyone knows there’s one thing Miranda Lambert can’t resist: Dogs in need. Six-year-old Riley Weinberger works as a volunteer for Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Wellington, Florida, and made a Youtube plea to Miranda set to her hit, ‘The House That Built Me.’ Riley asked Lambert to tour the facility during her visit to West Palm Beach, where she was set to perform. How could Miranda resist? Well she couldn’t and she even took it one step further….
Miranda not only showed up, but she also adopted a puppy, naming him Bellamy (in honor of the Bellamy brothers). When Blake comes home on a break from The Voice he will have a new family member to meet and love too! Check out Riley’s adorable ‘video plea’ to animal lovin’ Miranda and you can see why Miranda was putty in Riley’s hands!

Sometimes is seems that pets will ‘choose us’…and I bet that “Bellamy” did something, or looked at Miranda with his little pleading ‘puppy eyes‘ and she just could not resist taking him home!
When I was considering getting my first dog ever, I was nervous and wanted to be sure that I picked the perfect dog for me and my family. I had it set in my mind that I wanted a female dog, because I did not want a ‘male humper’ and a nice, mellow and quiet dog that did not bark much. But when I went to look at some puppies that a listener had that needed homes, by the time I got there they only had one male puppy left.
I admit, at the time I was kind of bummed that all the female pups were already spoken for, but picked up the little male anyway, and it was like our eyes locked together instantly. I said “OMG…..you are the cutest thing I have ever seen! You don’t wanna go home with me do ya?” And right then he licked my nose and I swear he SMILED!
That was IT…..the PERFECT dog found and picked ME! And I ended up with a male humping/barking machine! My yorkie Elvis is 11 years old now and he has been my heart from the day I met him!
What did your ‘best friend‘ do that made your heart melt when ‘they picked YOU’ and you just knew it was the perfect pet for you and your family!
