Thompson Square Shot ‘Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About’ Video Inside Patsy Cline’s Home
Apparently those chores around the Thompson home aren’t going to get attended to today.
That’s because, as Thompson Square’s new video shows us, instead of paying attention to the tasks at hand, Keifer and Shawna’s minds are occupied with things they “shouldn’t be thinking about.” At least when they’re supposed to be fixing the sink or doing laundry.
Directed by Chris Hicky (whose extensive previous work includes helming Chris Young’s “Aw Naw” and Tim McGraw’s “Truck Yeah”), the video is sweet, fun, and lighthearted. But it also has a fascinating historic characteristic: It was shot on location at Patsy Cline’s final residence (the country legend was killed in a plane crash in 1963) in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Cline’s home is now a private residence, and this is the first time an artist has been allowed to shoot inside the home.
That historic tidbit, then, helps explain the video’s vintage mid-century decor (from furniture to cake platters to a game of Twister) and the ’50s feel of Keifer and Shawna’s outfits. Not to mention the suburban ‘action’ that peppers the storyline, including curious neighbors who can’t keep their eyes of the goings-on next door.
“Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About” is the latest single from Thompson Square’s album Just Feels Good, which they released this past spring.
