The June 30 show at DTE Energy Music Theatre–not far from Kramer’s hometown of Rochester, Michigan–brought the end of her stint as opening act (along with Rodney Atkins) on Darius Rucker’s True Believers tour (see the concert photos). And she went out in style.
Well, sort of. Kramer was pranked–twice–during her first two songs.
Last day of tour calls for some pranks! Any ideas?!?!—
Jana Kramer (@kramergirl) June 30, 2013
Just before the “Why Ya Wanna” singer took the stage, two roadies walked a brown boxer across the stage, which left a small ‘surprise’ for Jana right below her mic stand.
When she took the stage, Kramer acted the professional and simply kept smiling…and making sure she didn’t step in anything.
During her second song, though, the pranking continued. Her drummer kept smiling and looking up toward the lights. Looking up in the rafters, you could see a man holding a stuffed ostrich and a brown bag. As Jana continued to play, he lowered the stuffed animal until she caught a glimpse of the stuffed flightless bird.
Feathers followed the stuffed animal and Jana laughed so much she stopped singing for a moment to recompose herself.
The hometown girl finished her set as friends and family members cheered her on from the crowd.
