Where’s the party? According to Luke Bryan‘s new video for “Crash My Party,” it’s right by the barn down that old dirt road. And you can feel free to “crash” it.
Luke’s song–the title track and first single from the ACM Entertainer of the Year’s upcoming album, due Aug. 13–is an upbeat, summer-friendly tune that’s somewhere between a love song and a booty call.
The lyrics aren’t about any soiree in particular; instead, his message is simply that the “party” can take place anywhere, and it can start anytime.
“If it’s 2 in the morning and you’re feeling lonely and wondering what I’m doing,” he sings, “go ahead and call me.” And never mind if it’s “in the dead of the night,” he’s willing to “break [his] plans,” so “swing on by” and he’ll “pour you a drink.” Oh, and “the door’s unlocked” and he’ll “leave on the lights.”
“Crash My Party” was written by Rodney Clawson and Ashley Gorley. Clawson helped write such songs as Blake Shelton’s “Drink on It” and Jason Aldean’s “Amarillo Sky,” while Gorley is one of the minds behind, among others, Brad Paisley’s “American Saturday Night” and Carrie Underwood’s “Good Girl.”
Luke Bryan’s album Crash My Party is due in stores Aug. 13.
