Listen to the interview above and then check out the video we asked him about below, where Hank Williams Jr. brings him on stage perform when he was 4!
When asked about his two shows in December at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, MN, Hunter says, ”I’m as excited as I can possibly be because this is my chance to really design a show. I’m big on production. I’m big on show design. I’m big on weird song arrangements and all of the above. So this is like, gold to me! This is going to be really really fun for me!”
When asked if he’s started rehearsing or has been too busy with the Carrie Underwood tour, Hunter says, “Oh yeah, we’re way started. We have actually built what we’re considering phase one of the set. There’s a couple different phases, and we’ve built the first phase to take it on the road to see if everything works right. And you know, just kind of starting with the simple ideas but bring them on and seeing how they work and how they interact with the show. We’ve got a couple new arrangement changes in play as we speak. They will be probably changing anyway. But yeah, we’re already planning for it. We’re already on the road with a lot of it.”
When asked if he remembers when Hank Williams Jr brought him out on stage to play ‘Jambalaya’ on the accordion (see the video below), Hunter, who has been playing instruments since he was 2 year old, says,“I barely remember that. And what an honor it was to get that invite from somebody like Hank. But dude you really don’t have to post my 4-year old video anywhere.” Laughing, Hunter continues, “If you want to [post] it’s cool, I totally understand. But if you want to hold off or whatever…”
