Darius Rucker’s Annual Benefit Raises $95,000 For St. Jude’s
Darius Rucker took the stage last week (June 3) at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville for his fourth annual Darius And Friends concert to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The country singer was joined onstage by Luke Bryan, Randy Houser, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, Sam Bush and John Cowan of New Grass Revival, Mallary Hope and Joel Crouse for an evening of performances.
“I look forward to this event all year long,” Rucker said in a press statement. “I get to share the stage with some of my favorite artists, friends and musical influences.”
“As much fun as it is,” he continued, “it’s all in the spirit of raising support for St. Jude’s, an organization very dear to my heart.” And raise support he did, to the tune of $95,000.
In addition to the performance, the Darius And Friends event included an auction and a celebrity golf tournament, which was held on June 4.Dierks Bentley, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts, Colt Ford, JT Hodges, Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, David Nail, and Chuck Wicks all played in addition to Nashville Predator J.P. Dumont and NASCAR Hall of Famer Darrell Waltrip.

Another highlight of the musical portion of the event came when Rucker sang with Sam Bush and John Cowan from New Grass Revival. They were “one of the bands that made me want to be a country singer,” Rucker said, so getting to sing with them “made the night even more amazing for me.”
Rucker joined Bush and Cowan for a performance of New Grass Revival’s “Callin’ Baton Rouge” before he and friends took the stage for a group performance of Hank Williams Jr.‘s “Family Tradition.” He then closed the night with his current hit single “Wagon Wheel” off his new album True Believers.
All told, Rucker’s Darius And Friends‘ benefit raised $95,260. The money will go to help St. Jude provide the best care to children with cancer at no cost to their families.
