Do You Say “Pop” or “Soda” … “Aunt” or “Ant”?
I literally just spent the past 45 minutes on this website looking at all the different dialect results. When I moved away in 2002 I always wondered why people looked at me weird when I said “aunt” or “auntie”. I guess the majority of the country says “ant”, which is still weird to me. What? You have an insect at a relative?!? I also grew up using the term “supper” and not “dinner”, but again got weird looks when I used it. It totally makes sense to me now thanks to this new survey!
