Two more headline artists have been added to Blake Shelton’s star-studded Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert on May 29. Blake’s fellow Voice coach Usher and country star Darius Rucker will now join ACM Entertainer of the Year winner Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Vince Gill for the Oklahoma City event to be held Wednesday.
Tickets for the concert are sold out, but the show will be televised live tomorrow (May 29) at 9 p.m. on NBC, as well as on Style, G4, Bravo, E! and CMT on either a live or delayed basis (depending on time zone).
The concert is being held in support of the people of Oklahoma, especially the town of Moore, which was struck by a massive tornado last week. Shelton, who hails from Ada, Oklahoma — about 75 miles southeast of Moore — first announced he was organizing a benefit after week’s episode of The Voice.
“Everyone has their way to help, and mine as an entertainer is to perform to help raise money and awareness for this tragedy,” Shelton wrote in a statement on his website. “This is why I want to do this special and especially hold it in Oklahoma City, which is near ground zero.”
The event will raise funds for the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund. Working with their local community partners, United Way of Central Oklahoma will use the fund for recovery and rebuilding efforts in Oklahoma.
