Never mind that your bank account is running low, and that it’s pouring rain outside. As Sheryl Crow shows us in the new video to her country single “Easy,” with a little imagination, there are plenty of ways to kick back right where you already are.
“Who needs Mexico,” she sings, strumming a guitar in front of a crackling fire, “baby let’s stay home.”
“A couple years ago gas was so expensive, and the term ‘staycation’ became part of our vernacular,” Sheryl Crow explained in a recent Radio.com interview. “And that’s really what the song is about.”
The video stars Crow alongside Jason Lewis, who’s best known for playing emerging actor Smith Jerrod on Sex and the City. As Crow sings, he sets up the room for a faux-tropical celebration for two, complete with lights, leis, umbrella drinks, beach movies, and an old record player spinning, we can only presume, Jack Johnson (who according to Crow is “the new Don Ho”).
“Easy” is the first single from Sheryl’s upcoming new country album. A release date has not been set, though the album is expected this year.
