It was tough competition, but Miranda Lambert’s “Over You,” co-written by Lambert and husband Blake Shelton, took home this year’s ACM award for Song of the Year and Single Record of the Year.

A song written by the couple, it tells the story of Shelton’s brother who passed away when he was a kid.

Once on stage Lambert took the mic to thank everyone as Pistol Annies’ bandmate Angaleena Presley was seen tearing up in the audience.

“Oh this is awesome you guys. Thank you so much!” she said as she took the award from her husband.

“Last time this happened you didn’t get a chance to talk and you’re not going to get chance this time either,” he joked. “I’ve learned so much from this human being standing next to me. She blows me away . . . I used to think I was a decent songwriter until I was hanging around with her and this is proof of it. Thank you so much baby, I love you.”

Lambert got her time at the mic right after though when she accepted the award for Single Record of the Year once again for “Over You.”
