Florida Georgia Line Thank Fans For ACM New Artist Of The Year Award
Florida Georgia Line have come a long way in one year. Their hit single “Cruise” helped propel them to the top of the country charts and garnered them this year’s ACM New Artist of the Year award.
An ecstatic Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard too the stage moments ago to thank everyone for their fan-voted award.
“Thank you guys so very much. We have to thank the Lord for blessing us beyond our wildest dreams and our fans,” Hubbard said.
Kelley shared the same sentiments. “We want to thank God, our amazing family,” he said.
As the camera panned away at the close of their acceptance speech, Hubbard was seen mouthing, “This time last year we were watching this on our couches.” It’s a similar story to what he told Radio.com after learning the duo won their very first award for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year.
“It’s one of those things that it feels good to be part of country music and the country music family,” Kelley said. “A year ago we were sitting on the couch eating pizza and watching the awards. Growing up watching the awards, dreaming of being up there one day, or being nominated. Already winning one and being nominated for two more with such amazing artists, it’s really cool to us and for where we come from. Hopefully we’ll take home a win and maybe some blackjack money. It’s an honor. It’s very humbling.”
Florida Georgia Line say their awards continue to motivate them.
“It motivates us and pushes us to work even harder and try to take home more wins and do bigger things,” Hubbard said. “And our fans, we have to give them all the credit. The award that we won was fan voted, and the ones we’re nominated for are fan voted. Our fans are killer and they assemble like an army and support us and push us along. That’s why we’re doing it. We love our fans.”
