Jason Aldean is one of five artists nominated for Entertainer of the Year at this Sunday’s Academy of Country Music Awards. To date he’s been nominated three times in this coveted category–which of course is an honor in itself. But with another powerhouse year behind him (more sold-out shows, more hit songs, a brand-new album), does he think his chances of winning the award are better than ever this time around?
“It’s hard to say,” he tells Radio.com. “That’s a fan-voted award, so those awards you never really know how they’re going to go.”
Jason goes on to say that he and his team have “as good a shot as anybody of winning it. Our records have been successful, our tours have been successful. Ultimately we put ourselves in a good spot. And that’s really all you can do at that point. Make the fans aware they can go out and vote, and whatever happens happens.”
Fan voting for Entertainer of the Year is open through Sunday, April 7. Find out more about all five nominees (Jason, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, and last year’s winner Taylor Swift) with Radio.com’s series of Inside the ACM Entertainer of the Year videos.
The 48th ACM Awards air Sunday, April 7 at 8pm ET on CBS.
