Inside The ACM Entertainer Of The Year Nominees: Luke Bryan

The most prestigious honor at the Academy of Country Music Awards each year is the Entertainer of the Year. And among this year’s five nominees is Luke Bryan.

Luke is undeniably a “heartthrob” and “dreamy,” but as our panel of music experts notes, he also “appeals to men and women”–the kind of guy who’s “your best friend,” but “who just happens to be a great singer, too.” This thanks to catchy, good-natured hits of his like “All My Friends Say,” “Country Girl Shake It For Me,” and “Drunk On You.”

It’s no wonder, then, that Luke was tapped this year to cohost the ACM Awards with Blake Shelton.

Hear out these and other insights about Luke from our panel of experts–and see what led to his ACM nomination–in this installment of Inside the Entertainer of the Year.

Our panel of experts included Marci Braun and Drew Walker of Chicago’s US99.5; Dr. Don, Rachael Hunter, and Steve Grunwald of Detroit’s 99.5 WYCD; The Boot‘s Beville DunkerleyGrady Smith of Entertainment Weekly; author Alan Light (The Holy or the Broken: Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, and the Unlikely Ascent of “Hallelujah”); and’s Annie ReuterKurt Wolff, and Courtney Smith.
