When you click that little thumbs up on Facebook, you might be giving more away about yourself than just your passion for Lady Antebellum.

new study done by University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom found that liking certain things on the social networking site can give insight into how smart you are.

Researchers took a closer look at the online habits of 58,000 Facebook users between 2007 and 2012 and found that those who ‘liked’ The Colbert Report, thunderstorms, science and curly fries were predicted to be of high intelligence.

As for people who clicked on the parenting page ‘I Love Being A Mom,” the beauty store Sephora, motorcycle giant Harley Davidson and Lady Antebellum, well, they’re believed to be of low intelligence. Yes, liking the country trio apparently does not help you become a MENSA member.

As for why this is, well, the researchers gave no further explanation of these findings. Frankly, it seems based around and biased against various stereotypes of both country fans and moms.

The business-savvy band, however, has exhibited smarts in its speedy rise to the top. Lady A’s 2008 self-titled debut set sales records for a first album from a country band. Their second release, Need You Nowwas their first No. 1 album, which eventually earned them five GRAMMYs in 2011, including Record Of The Year. They’ve won a total of seven GRAMMYs in their career.

Record number three, 2010’s Own The Night, gave them their second No. 1 album, selling 481,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. And their latest single, “Downtown,” off upcoming fourth album Golden, was their highest chart debut ever.

If liking a band that can achieve all that in five years makes you dumb, we’re actually dumbfounded. And although they are delicious, we’re still trying to figure out how liking curly fries makes someone such a smarty pants.
