Tim McGraw has great reason celebrate this week, as his brand-new album Two Lanes of Freedom–which was just released last week–debuted at Number One on the Billboard country album chart. This marks the 14th time one of Tim’s albums has debuted in the top spot on that chart.
Of course, Tim also has another something to celebrate this week–his marriage to Faith Hill. But when it comes to Valentine’s Day, how do he and Faith like to celebrate?
As he told Detroit’s WYCD in a recent interview, he’s not one for big splashy affairs. Instead, he likes to keep it simple. “For us, having an evening at home with the kids, a quiet evening is probably the best Valentine’s we can have.”
He echoed those sentiments in a recent interview with Radio.com, saying he rarely goes “”over the top” when it comes to Valentine’s Day plans or gifts. “I get lucky every now and then and do something right,” he says.
However, he does have a musical recommendation–an instrumental track from the band Santana. When it comes to Valentine’s Day music, “there’s this one song that always works,” he says, “and that’s ‘Samba Pa Ti,’ off the Abraxas album.” Abraxas was Santana’s second studio album, released in 1970.
Tim McGraw’s Two Lanes of Freedom is in stores now.
