Monday night on Dancing With The Stars was a night of firsts: a first for new dances, the first guest judge, the first tears, and the first perfect score of the season. With the stakes getting higher and the strongest dancers edging out their competitors, it’s not surprising America sent home the weakest of the bunch.
The bottom two came down to the lowest performing scores of the week – Kirstie Alley and Bristol Palin. Even though she improved dramatically this week, Bristol Palin ultimately failed to bring in the votes needed to keep her and her partner Mark Ballas safe.
Keeping her head held high, Palin said she wasn’t disappointed with her time on the dance floor and had some tender last words to share with her fellow dancers.
“Well, we did it. We made it to week four and I’m happy with that,” Bristol said. “I had an awesome time and an awesome partner. These are just great people and I wish them the best of luck.”
Kirstie also had something to say about narrowly escaping elimination, tweeting:
HELLO!!!! and BIG smooches to all of you!!!!! Seize every possible thing u fear but want to achieve. There is NOTHING worse than not trying—

The night continued with another ‘first’ as the top All-Stars picked the dancers for next week’s theme; a team freestyle. Gillies Marini and Shawn Johnson, who walked away this week with the highest scores, picked the teams and the guilty pleasure song they’ll be dancing to.
And the teams are:
Team Gilles dancing to Psy’s “Gangnam Style”
Team Shawn dancing to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”
Apolo Anton Ohno
Shawn Johnson didn’t waste any time getting back to the studio to rehearse that night either. Following the live performance, she and her partner were already back to work.
And if it’s any indication from Apolo’s reaction to the costumes for his routine next week, we’re in for some more fun surprises.
In honor of guilty pleasures, what dance moves would you like to see the teams show off next week?
Pamela Anderson (week 1)
Joey Fatone (week 2)
Helio Castroneves and Drew Lachey (week 3)
Bristol Palin (week four)
