Scotty McCreery just claimed a spot in the Guinness World Records book. But don’t worry, he didn’t do any crazy fire stunts, juggle chainsaws, or grow his nails ridiculously long to make the cut.

McCreery did do something amazing, though, and possibly without even realizing it. Last year, when he was only 18 years old, he released his debut album, Clear as Day. The album took a clear shot straight up to the top, debuting at Number One on the all-genre Billboard 200 album chart.

And it’s this accomplishment that landed McCreery in the Guinness book, for being the youngest male to enter the U.S. album charts at Number One.

The company wasted no time telling McCreery the news on Twitter:

Outside of country music, congratulations are also in order for Adele, who joins McCreery in the book. Adele scored several records for 2011, including being the first female artist, the first U.K. artist, and the fastest artist to reach digital sales of 1 million in the U.S. Her song “Rolling in Deep” also helped Adele “roll” into another record for having the biggest-selling digital track.

Rihanna was also recognized as being the best-selling digital artist in the U.S., having sold 47.57 million tracks. And Lady Gaga took the title for having the fastest-selling U.S. digital album (Born This Way) after selling 1.1 million her first week.
