Carrie Underwood and Dierks Bentley are among the many artists coming together next month for one music-filled night to celebrate educators around the country who make learning fun.
Teachers Rock, which airs August 18 on CBS, is a charity concert that will raise money for teachers and education. The proceeds from the LA show will benefit three nonprofit organizations: DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that raises money for classroom supplies, the hunger-relief foundation Feeding America and Teach for America, a program that trains recent college graduates to lead a classroom.
The concert will also feature performances from pop group fun. and singer Josh Groban, along with personal testimonials from Maroon 5, Meryl Street and Glee’s Matthew Morrison on their favorite school memories.
Education is something close to both Carrie and Josh’s hearts. Josh was just honored by the Americans for the Arts foundation for his education work. And the American Idol winner’s mom was an elementary school teacher in Oklahoma.
Teachers Rock airs Saturday, August 18 on CBS.
