Country music is about to gain another Hollywood star.
According to a recent press statement, as well as a note on her Twitter page, Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale has signed a recording deal with Hollywood Records.
I can now share that I have recently been signed to Hollywood Records @HollywoodRecs ! I couldn't be more excited to share my music with you—

Hale, who also has appeared in TV shows such as The O.C. and How I Met Your Mother and movies like Scream 4, sounds like she can’t wait to get started.
“I’m overjoyed and honored to become a member of the Hollywood Records family,” said Hale in the press statement. “I’ve admired the careers they’ve made and can’t wait to see how my musical path is paved out.”
However, as she noted in a followup tweet, the music will be different from “anything you’ve ever heard from the label” (which is part of the Disney Music Group and home to such pop stars as Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato) and “not what you’d expect from me.”
While she points to Britney Spears as a key inspiration, it turns out that the Memphis, Tennessee native actually wants to go country, following in the footsteps of such artists as Shania Twain and Faith Hill.
Its going to be diff from anything you've ever heard from the label and not what you'd expect from me. Thanks for the support!—
