Jana Kramer’s Debut Album Hits Number One On iTunes

Singer and actress Jana Kramer released her self-titled debut album this week, and within two days it reached Number One on the iTunes country album chart.

And considering she bumped Alan Jackson–who also released a new album this week–to the number two spot, that’s a pretty substantial achievement.

Kramer was, as you’d imagine, thrilled.

Detroit native Kramer was initially best known for her acting TV shows such as Friday Night Lights, 90210, and One Tree Hill. She’s been gaining ground as a country singer as well, through a series of singles including “Whiskey” and “Why You Wanna.” Both songs appear on her debut album, which was produced by noted Nashville vet Scott Hendricks (Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Trace Adkins, John Michael Montgomery).

Kramer performed “Why You Wanna” live during Wednesday’s broadcast of the CMT Music Awards.
