Country Duo Steel Magnolia Reuniting, Performing At ACM Experience

And here we thought the split was permanent.

Reports surfaced a month or so ago that Steel Magnolia had broken up for good. The duo abruptly canceled some upcoming concerts without explanation.

You may know that Steel Magnolia’s Joshua Scott Jones spent a chunk of last year in rehab. His bandmate and partner Meghan Linsey soldiered on, filling committed tour dates with James Otto. Steel Magnolia also parted ways in early 2012 with their label, Big Machine Records.

Linsey also appeared at the celebrity-filled fundraiser A Night to Make It Right this past weekend, a benefit for Brad Pitt’s Lower Ninth Ward redevelopment project. (Linsey is from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, which is about an hour northwest of New Orleans.)

However, Linsey and Jones have not apparently split for good. The pair is booked to perform in Las Vegas at the end of this month, during the free, open-to-the-public three-day ACM Experience in Las Vegas. Their performance on Saturday, March 31 is part of the the run-up to the Academy of Country Awards (to be broadcast April 1 on CBS).

Oh, and they’re nominated for an ACM Award as well, for Vocal Duo of the Year.
