[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm] has a ‘dog-loving‘ heart of gold and ended 2011 by saving the life of an injured Labrador puppy in Nashville! Carrie shared her bittersweet story on how she found two puppies on the shoulder of a highway in Nashville the day before New Years Eve. Sadly, one puppy was already dead, and the other barely clinging to life when she rescued the poor puppy who most likely was thrown from a moving vehicle on the freeway. Carrie explains what happened next on her fan club blog…
Over the holidays, Carrie was on her way back to Nashville after visiting her family when she saw two Labrador puppies on the side of the highway. She pulled over, checked on the puppies and rescued the one that was still alive. She took the dog to an emergency vet, who said it had road rash, had bitten through its tongue and was most likely thrown from a moving vehicle.
After all that, Underwood took the dog home to her garage and named her ‘Stella.’ But since she already has two dogs and a busy schedule ahead for 2012, she decided to find Stella a home with a couple that lives down the street. That will work out nice when Underwood wants to check up on Stella… even though her husband Mike has warned her not to ‘stalk’ Stella at her new and loving home!
Carrie Underwood has always been a huge dog-lover, in fact before she met her husband Mike Fisher, she sang about “The More Boys I Meet”….the more I LOVE MY DOG! Pretty funny song….
Have you ever rescued an injured animal? Did you keep it?
